The U.S. Secretary of Commerce in January, acting through NOAA’s assistant administrator for Fisheries, found that the states of Idaho, Oregon and Washington had produced sufficient evidence to warrant establishing a task force to evaluate a proposal to lethally remove sea lions from the Columbia River.
