NEW SPILLWAY WEIR FOR ICE HARBOR UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Sitting in a Vancouver, Wash. shipyard is a 1.7 million pound, 105-foot by 75-foot steel structure that in March 2005 will float to Ice Harbor Dam on the lower Snake River.

A U.S. Army Corps of Engineers contractor is well along in the construction of the federal Columbia River power system’s next removable spillway weir (RSW).
