President Bush’s proposed $2.57 trillion budget for Fiscal Year 2006, beginning Oct. 1, includes about $571 million for Columbia Basin salmon restoration efforts.
That’s a decrease of about 5 percent, from the $600 million approved by Congress and Bush for FY2005. Actual spending in FY2004 was $641 million.
