Columbia Basin Bulletin Terms and Conditions

Columbia Basin Bulletin is a publication of Earthwise Knowledge Initiative, providing independent coverage of Columbia River Basin policy, fish, wildlife, water, and energy through our website at https://columbiabasinbulletin.org/ (the “Site”) and related services (the “Services”). Access to the Site and Services is subject to the following terms and conditions.

Access to Online Services

Accounts. To use certain features of the Site or Services, you must register for an account and provide certain information as prompted by the registration form. You represent and warrant that all required registration information you submit is truthful and accurate and that you will maintain the accuracy of such information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account login information and are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to immediately notify Columbia Basin Bulletin of any unauthorized use or suspected unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security. Columbia Basin Bulletin cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with these requirements.

Access to Features. Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, nontransferable license to access and use the Site and Services consistent with your membership category.

General Restrictions. The rights granted to you under these terms remain in force only for so long as these terms remain in effect. You may not rent, transfer, assign, commercially exploit, resell, or sublicense access to the Services to any third party. Individual memberships are licensed to a single named user and may not be shared. Group memberships are licensed to the subscribing organization for use by the number of named seats purchased. Authorized uses vary by membership category as follows:

  • Individual memberships are licensed to a single named user and may not be shared or transferred.
  • Government and tribal government subscribers may access the Site and Services for official agency or governmental use by named seat holders within the subscribing organization.
  • Nonprofit subscribers may access the Site and Services for organizational use by named seat holders within the subscribing organization. Nonprofit pricing requires a current 501(c)(3) determination letter on file with Columbia Basin Bulletin prior to activation. Columbia Basin Bulletin reserves the right to verify status at any time and to adjust pricing to the applicable rate if status cannot be confirmed.
  • Commercial and for-profit subscribers may access the Site and Services for internal business use by named seat holders within the subscribing organization.

In all cases, access is limited to named seat holders. Credentials may not be shared outside the subscribing organization. Except as expressly stated herein, no part of the Site or Services may be copied, reproduced, distributed, republished, downloaded, displayed, posted, or transmitted in any form or by any means without prior written consent.

Ownership. Earthwise Knowledge Initiative and its vendors and suppliers retain all right, title, and interest in and to the Site and Services and all related intellectual property rights, other than content you submit. All rights not granted in these terms are reserved. Unless you first obtain the copyright owner’s prior written consent, you may not copy, distribute, publicly perform, publicly display, or create derivative works from any copyrighted work made available through the Site or Services. If you provide feedback or suggestions regarding the Site or Services, you assign to Earthwise Knowledge Initiative all rights in that feedback and agree that Earthwise Knowledge Initiative may use it in any manner it deems appropriate. We will treat any feedback you provide as non-confidential and non-proprietary.

Cancellations and Refunds

Cancellations. You may cancel your subscription at any time by going to My Account. You must cancel before your subscription renews to avoid being charged for the next billing period. When you cancel, you cancel only future charges. You will not receive a refund for the current billing period and will retain access through the end of that period.

Refunds. Payments are non-refundable. There are no refunds or credits for partially used billing periods. Columbia Basin Bulletin reserves the right to issue refunds or credits at its sole discretion. Issuing a refund or credit in one instance creates no obligation to do so in the future.
