Fisheries Biologist III/Senior – Chelan PUD – Wenatchee, WA

Chelan PUD is seeking a Fisheries Biologist III or Senior to help protect and enhance fish resources while supporting the long-term operation of our hydroelectric projects on the Columbia River. Job Functions: Lead and support biological studies, monitoring programs, and fisheries initiatives involving anadromous and resident fish, Habitat Conservation Plans, hydroelectric licensing, and regulatory requirements. Depending on level, you will manage projects and consultants, analyze and communicate scientific findings, collaborate with Tribal, Federal, State, and local partners, and represent Chelan PUD in technical forums. Senior level candidates will also lead complex studies, mentor biologists, and help shape strategies that balance reliable hydropower with responsible resource management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: We are looking for an experienced fisheries professional with strong scientific, analytical, project management, and communication skills. Fisheries Biologist III requires 6+ years of relevant experience. Senior requires 7+ years, with hydroelectric experience strongly preferred. Work Environment: This role is primarily office based, with approximately 10% of time spent in the field supporting fisheries programs and studies.
