When the Wallowa River insisted on washing away large chunks of irrigated pasture an Eastern Oregon couple realized they were fighting a losing battle. Accepting their fate, they sought a way to give the river the floodplain it desired while improving juvenile and adult chinook salmon and steelhead habitat.
